The ultimate guide to Valentine’s Day in Indiana: Plan a date to remember

Jan 13, 2026, 09:25 AM by Garrett Kelly
Take note of these Valentine’s Day ideas for Hoosiers across Indiana! There are so many ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day from romantic dinners to new experiences.

Valentine’s Day can be daunting, but we’re here to help! Every couple is on a mission to celebrate, and you definitely want to have a plan in place. Indiana offers a wide variety of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Whether you want to plan a classic date night with a delicious dinner or want to experience something new together, we’ve got you covered with these Indiana Valentine’s Day date ideas.

Planning a Valentine’s Day date in Indiana

Start booking as soon as you can to lock in Valentine’s Day plans. After all, there are only so many tables and time slots available on a given day or night. Starting early with your planning allows you to have your pick of restaurants and events.

If you do get a late start, be prepared to adjust. If a restaurant has no more reservation times available on Valentine’s Day or a business you want to visit is fully booked, consider going a couple of days before or after Feb. 14. It’s the time together that counts!

Northern Indiana Valentine’s Day date ideas

If you want to dance the night away in Mishawaka, don’t miss  Forever Dance Studio’s “Valentine’s Dance.” The studio will host an open dance party from 8:30-10:15 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2026. The cost is $10 per person. If you can’t make it to the dance party, you and your partner can always inquire about the classes available at the studio!

Hoping to enjoy a bit of a skate date? Head over to Howard Park to take on the ice trail and pond. Skating season lasts until March, so enjoy the fun while you can. Visit the  Howard Park website to reserve time slots, which are 80 minutes long and cost just $5.

Working on a craft during a date may be more your speed. If that’s the case, don’t miss  All Fired Up in Lafayette. Get in an artistic groove by selecting a piece of pottery to paint and design. Then, pick up the finished product a week later. You can display your artwork at home and remember the wonderful time you had together. There are open studio dates and dates specifically reserved for date nights!

Take your sweet to pick up some sweets. At the  Albanese Confectionery Factory Store in Merrillville, you can stock up on gummy bears, chocolates, novelty candy and more. The main factory store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT on Sundays. Hours may differ on other major holidays, but Valentine’s Day is not impacted!

Fair Oaks Farm is hosting a Valentine’s weekend menu at  the Farmhouse Restaurant. Space is limited, but you can book a table in the restaurant, a two-person igloo or some igloos for bigger parties. Time slots are available from Feb. 13 to 15. If you don’t make it in time for reservations this year, create a reminder to book earlier next year!

Central Indiana Valentine’s Day date ideas

Indianapolis is filled with Valentine’s Day date opportunities. For the couples that like to stay active, the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) will host the  annual “Be My Valentine Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk.” The race is outside, but NIFS will have doors open before and after the race for access to snacks and restrooms.

Is music your love language? Turntable Indy is hosting a  Valentine’s Day rave with a 2010s theme. Tickets cost just under $30 with fees, and you must be 18 or older to attend.

If running or raving aren’t your vibe, head to the  Visit Indy website for other unique ideas!

In Terre Haute, take your crush to create a work of art on canvas. MuseArt Terre Haute offers a variety of painting classes throughout the year. In addition to painting, MuseArt offers drawing courses, ceramics glazing and instruction on other art disciplines. Once you’ve created your masterpiece, you can shop for art supplies and keep the fun going at home!

If you and your partner both have a sweet tooth and live near Richmond, you’re in luck! Check out Richmond’s Chocolate Trail, which features 16 stops. Bloomington is home to Oliver Winery, and it might be a perfect Valentine’s Day date spot. You can reserve tasting experiences during the weekdays. In the month of February, you can reserve a winter igloo and enjoy your favorite wine in comfort. The rental period lasts for 90 minutes. Learn more and secure your spot on the  Oliver Winery website.

If you want to take your relationship to new heights in Evansville, you can visit  Vertical eXcape Climbing Center. You don’t have to be an expert climber to have fun and getting started is easy. Plus, you can buy an all-day pass for $25. Orientation classes occur at dedicated times each day, so check the website to make sure you arrive at the right time.

Finding an Indiana restaurant for your Valentine’s Day date

If you’re determined to have a nice dinner date this Valentine’s Day, the options are endless. You can use these Indiana restaurant guides to help you narrow down your search.

Hopefully this list helps you identify something you’d love to do for Valentine’s Day! If you loved the idea of an ice-skating date or a bonding over a craft experience listed in a specific town or city, be sure to look for the same type of business near you! Odds are there’s a fun Valentine’s Day date spot near you no matter where you live in Indiana!
