Auto Claims

You can report your claim using the online form or by calling 1-800-723-3276. Taking photos is a good way to document an accident. However, you should always stay safe. Do not take photos at the scene if doing so puts you or others at risk of injury.

Some of the items to photograph are license plate(s) of vehicles involved, damage to vehicles or other property, and landmarks such as street signs or address markers.

Other information you will need is:

  • Policy number
  • Date, location, and description of the accident
  • Year, make, and model of vehicles involved
  • Names of everyone involved in the accident including witnesses
  • Description of injuries
  • Home, work, and cell phone numbers
  • Responding police department and accident report information

Your claim will be assigned to a claims representative who will contact you to answer your questions and obtain additional information. An appraiser will likely need to inspect your vehicle to determine the amount of damage. You may use the body shop of your choice or you can use one of our Customer Select Program body shops. We hope this short video helps explain the claims process and what you can expect. After an accident, your first concern should be with your safety and then your vehicle. However, you should also protect your personal information to avoid becoming a victim of identity theft. What information should you share with the other driver? You should exchange names and insurance information including the insurance company name and phone number. You should not allow the other driver to take a photo of your driver's license. If you are unable to obtain the other driver's insurance information, then you should ask for their other identification and contact information, such as phone number, address, and driver's license number.
