(Indianapolis) – Sept. 9, 2026 – Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance is preparing for its summer internship program. The company will provide approximately 20 paid internship opportunities in a variety of business areas, including claims, underwriting, information technology and actuarial departments.

The 11-week internship program will run from mid-May through the end of July 2027. Interns will get real, practical experience by working side-by-side with their teams on projects that benefit their department and the company at large. The summer schedule also carves out weekly time for personal development, ensuring interns leave with more than just professional skills.

“This program is holistic in nature. In addition to regular business-related work tasks, our interns participate in mock interview sessions and a resume building workshop,” said Lilia Lewis, HR administrator and internship program facilitator. “Beyond that, we round out the experience with community service opportunities and social events for the interns to enjoy together.”

Candidates best suited for the program are undergraduates with ties to Indiana, including those attending school in-state as well as Indiana natives enrolled at out-of-state colleges and universities. The roles are hybrid, with interns spending part of their week on site at the company's Indianapolis headquarters.

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance company representatives will attend career fairs at the following schools in the coming weeks:

  • University of Cincinnati – Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET

  • Ball State University – Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET

  • Indiana State University – Sept. 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET

  • Purdue University (School of Business) – Sept. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. ET

  • Kentucky State University – Oct. 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET

  • Purdue University (College of Agriculture) – Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance’s downtown Indianapolis office features modern workspaces, an on-site fitness facility and cafeteria, 24-hour security and free parking. It’s also close to dining and entertainment options.
