Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance announces new CIO

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance is excited to announce that Jo Lee Hayes has been promoted to the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Hayes is replacing current CIO Greg Clancy who retired after 20 years. Hayes began her new role July 1, 2023.

 

“I’m thrilled that Jo Lee has brought her unique set of strategic leadership skills to our executive team,” said CEO Kevin Murphy. “She has the vision and drive to conceive, design and execute mission-critical business and technology strategies to help Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance continue moving forward.”

 

Hayes spent most of her career at what would become Sallie Mae, leaving there as senior vice president of enterprise technology. She moved to Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance in 2013 where she most recently served as executive director of systems development where she supervised 100 team members in software development and enterprise architecture. She was named one of the Top 100 strategic Premier IT leaders in the nation by Computer World Magazine and received the Network World’s Top 10 All-Star Award.

 

“I am honored to have the chance to continue all the great work Greg has done in the past 20 years,” Hayes said. “Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance has come so far, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

 

Hayes earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communication, radio/TV and public relations from Purdue University. A lifelong learner, she has several certifications and enjoys taking continuing education classes. A Mooresville resident, Hayes is a passionate promoter of fine arts, she loves painting and glass blowing. She is active in her church and local community and has started several nonprofits to fulfill needs in her community. When not in the office, you’ll find Hayes refurbishing an 1863 farmhouse or spending time with her six brothers and sisters and more than 20 nieces and nephews.
