Whether your ancestors hail from the Emerald Isle or you just enjoy the festivities, St. Patrick’s Day in Indiana is just plain fun. It’s as much about celebrating the coming of spring as it is about St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland. You may have heard, on St. Patrick’s Day, everyone is Irish. So, find a place to join in the fun this year!
And the good news is, no matter where you are in Indiana, you can likely find some way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by attending parades, pub crawls and more! We’ll touch on some of the major celebrations in Indiana, but don't forget to check out what St. Patrick’s activities and events your town might have planned!
Date: Friday, March 13, 2026
Time: The block party lasts from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and the parade starts at 11:30 a.m.
Location: North Street between Meridian Street and Pennsylvania Avenue
Cost: Free and open to the public
Highlights: The St. Patrick’s Day parade features Irish-themed floats, marching bands, dancers and more. You can also enjoy live music, food trucks and a beer garden.

Date: Thursday, March 12, 2026
Time: Start time is 5 p.m. and the greening process starts at 5:45 p.m.
Location: Ohio Street Canal Basin
Cost: Free and open to the public
Highlights: Guests will hear from speakers and enjoy live music. If you can’t make it for the greening, the color typically lasts a few days after the city’s major St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Location: Grand Junction Plaza in Westfield, Indiana
Time: Noon to 3 p.m.
Cost: Free and open to the public
Highlights: This family-friendly event features Irish music, carnival games, a scavenger hunt and more. And don’t miss the namesake, the Shamrock Drop! When you arrive, you’ll receive a shamrock to place in the big cauldron for a chance to win one of five prize packages!

Location: Jefferson Boulevard
Time: 11 a.m.
Cost: Free and open to the public
Highlights: Following the parade, the East Race Waterway will be dyed green in celebration of the holiday.

Location: Downtown Crown Point, Indiana
Time: Vendors on the square from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the parade begins at dusk
Cost: Free and open to the public
Highlights: Enjoy a unique experience at this lighted, nighttime parade! There will also be Irish festivities, food and retail vendors.

Location: Downtown Evansville, Indiana
Time: Run of Luck 5K at 9 a.m. Central Time (CT) and the Paddy’s Day Pub Fun starts at noon CT
Cost: Vary by timing of purchase and package selected
Highlights: Start the morning off with a brisk 5K run and head to six bars for six beers during the pub crawl. You must be 21 years old to attend the Paddy’s Day Pub Fun experience.

Time: Varies by activity
Highlights: If you can’t make it to Ireland proper, celebrate in Ireland, Indiana. Most of the celebrations occur on St. Patrick’s Day and some events include a 5K, a parade, games, Irish mass, a bake-off and more!
