(Indianapolis) – Aug. 31, 2026 – Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance recently received the Governor's Half-Century Business Award, a distinction presented by the State of Indiana to businesses that have operated continuously for 50 years or more while demonstrating a lasting commitment to their communities. 

Representative employees from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance attended a ceremony at the Statehouse on Monday, Aug. 17 to accept the honor alongside leaders from other Hoosier businesses being celebrated for their longevity and impact. The award was presented by Indiana Governor Mike Braun, and since its inception 34 years ago, the award program has recognized more than 1,300 Indiana companies. 

"These businesses have been powering Indiana's economy for decades and are true examples of the Hoosier spirit and work ethic," said Gov. Braun in a statement distributed by his office. 

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance was founded in 1934 by Indiana Farm Bureau to give Hoosier farmers better access to insurance coverage. Over the past nine decades, the company has grown from a farmer-focused mutual insurer into a full-service provider offering home, auto, life, farm and crop, business and renters insurance, along with a range of financial products. Today, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance serves customers through agents and employees based in all 92 Indiana counties.
