(Indianapolis) – May 5, 2025 – IFBI Community, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance’s corporate volunteering and giving program, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. To mark this important milestone, IFBI Community expanded its support of the United Way of Central Indiana, facilitated volunteer opportunities during National Volunteer Week and created a service project for all employees to participate in during a companywide event.

Ten years ago, the IFBI Community program formalized the company’s existing community involvement efforts. It now provides employees with allotted volunteer time, builds relationships with nonprofits and community organizations, and manages corporate giving. In 2024, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance employees volunteered more than 4,000 hours to support nonprofits and community organizations.

“Over the past decade, IFBI Community has grown and developed into a program that has made a sizeable impact on Hoosier communities,” said Kevin Murphy, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance executive vice president and CEO. “Across the state, you will find Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance employees and agents who are invested in helping their neighbors. I firmly believe that our commitment to giving back makes us a better company.”

In addition to employee time, IFBI Community provides financial support to a variety of organizations and sponsors several initiatives. This year, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance expanded its sponsorship of the United Way of Central Indiana’s Go All IN Day, a day organized to encourage Hoosiers to get involved and volunteer. The company was previously the Marion County Community Champion but is now the presenting sponsor for the event through 2027.

The company also was heavily involved during National Volunteer Week, which was celebrated from April 20 to 26 this year. IFBI Community provided employees across the state with several opportunities to volunteer at organizations like Gleaners Food Bank, Million Meal Movement, Firefly Children and Family Alliance, or through the numerous organizations participating in the United Way of Central Indiana’s Go All IN Day. This year, the company saw a nearly 30% increase in employee volunteer activity when compared to last year's National Volunteer Week efforts.

On May 1, in a display of collective impact, all employees from across the state participated in a companywide service project. During an all-staff event held at Victory Field in Indianapolis, approximately 1,400 bookbags were packed and filled with supplies for Firefly Children and Family Alliance. The organization has offices in 64 counties in Indiana, and the bookbags packed on May 1 were distributed to families in need in Indianapolis and other communities across the state.
