Inside Story

County fairs allow people in communities across Indiana to gather for fun and incredible food each summer. At county fairs in Indiana, you can learn more about agriculture at the Indiana 4-H exhibitions and shows, get your heart pumping on the carnival rides, play games on the midway, and eat your fill of fried and unique foods.
Also, many county fairs in Indiana may schedule live musical entertainment or exciting competitions. County fairs evoke feelings of nostalgia for veteran fairgoers and are the perfect place for first-time fairgoers to experience new things and create lasting memories.
Each of Indiana’s 92 counties hosts a fair, and most of them are held in July. The culmination of fair season in the Hoosier state is the Indiana State Fair, which will be held from Aug. 7 – 23 in 2026. Mark your calendars because on Aug. 8, we are sponsoring Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Day at the Indiana State Fair. Summer and the fair are synonymous in Indiana!
In addition to the state fair and county fairs, Indiana is home to a lot of other festivals and community events. Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance is proud to sponsor the Indiana State Festival Association’s yearly guide of these festivals and events across the state.
To help you plan this county fair season, we’ve gathered the dates for all county fairs in Indiana. So, mark your calendars and get ready to take in the festivities!
