The Fourth of July is a time when family and friends get together to celebrate America’s birth and make great memories. One of the day’s highlights is the fun of fireworks, but you’ll enjoy them so much more knowing that your family
is safe. Take these precautions this Fourth of July to make your holiday a (safe) blast!
Obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks.
All firework activities should be supervised by a responsible adult. Never give fireworks to children.
Save your celebrating for after the show; alcohol and fireworks do not mix.
Wear safety glasses when shooting fireworks.
Use fireworks outdoors in a clear area, away from buildings and vehicles.
Always have a bucket of water and a water hose nearby.
Never relight a “dud” firework. Wait 20 minutes then soak it in a bucket of water.
Do not experiment with homemade fireworks.
Dispose of spent fireworks by wetting them down then placing them in a metal trash can away from any building or combustible materials until the next day.
Celebrate safely and have a great Fourth of July!
