Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance is excited to have established a relationship with Peril Protect to provide smart-home hardware, 24/7 water loss monitoring services and contractors at the ready. Although you may never have experienced a personal water loss, it can happen.
Peril Protect is an in home water loss monitoring system that leverages technological innovation and human expertise to quickly identify and alert homeowners of a potential water loss no matter the size. The Peril Protect sensors, which have a small 3x3” footprint, are placed by every water source in a home. The hub is then placed in a central location, switch the sensors on and the system is ready to go. Each sensor has a three-year battery life and the hub, which plugs into a wall outlet, features a 24-hour backup battery to ensure connection—even during power outages. When a sensor detects water, it performs a series of verification checks to confirm the presence of a leak, before alerting the homeowner via audible alarm and text message that a leak was detected, including the location of the sensor experiencing the leak (for example, the master bath sink). The system simultaneously alerts a 24/7 call center that a leak has been detected and a call is placed to the property owner to confirm the detection of the leak and to offer immediate assistance. Peril Protect can also arrange for a licensed, vetted contractor to begin extraction, drying and any necessary repair.
Product manager of Peril Protect, Isaiah Blackburn, discussed the development of the product, “Having personally experienced multiple water losses, we understand the emotional and financial toll that water damage can bring. There is more at stake than a deductible. Peril Protect’s mission is to provide our customers with not only a sense of security in knowing their home is being monitored for water leaks 24/7, but also the comfort that comes with having experienced contractors ready to help with any damage at a moment’s notice.” He also touched on what sets Peril Protect apart from other water loss systems, “Time is of the essence once water begins to leak, which is why each alert Peril Protect receives is treated like an emergency, no matter the water loss. The quicker a water leak is addressed, the less damage occurs, the sooner life returns to normal.” That is the Peril Protect difference. More and more companies are using technology to eliminate human interaction and a personal touch, but Peril Protect is leveraging it to enhance both.
You can lose more than just flooring in the event of minor or major water loss in your home. Trust in Peril Protect to give you a blanket of security for you and your belongings. The Peril Protect System will be available for purchase on their website beginning April 6.
