Out on your own?
First apartments are a major life step. As are first insurance policies. If you rent, and don't want to run the risk of losing valuable possessions to theft or disaster, you should strongly consider talking to an agent about renter's insurance.
Bought a car?
Indiana legally requires all drivers to have some auto insurance. You need at least $10,000 in property damage protection (in case you damage someone else's property or car), and at least $25,000 minimum coverage (in case you cause bodily harm to another). But the bare minimum won't help if an un-insured or under-insured motorist hits your car. To find the most affordable protection or you, get in touch with an agent.
Buying some bling?
Whether it's a wedding ring, engagement ring or any other piece of jewelry, you might not be covered when it slips off your finger and plummets down the kitchen drain. To extend the limits of your personal property coverage, or purchase scheduled property insurance, talk to an agent.
Planning your wedding?
As long as you're merging everything else, you might want to join your auto insurance together as well. Once you're married, you'll want to put both people's names on your renter's or home insurance, and it's not a bad time to start looking into disability and/or life insurance. (At the very least, you'll want to tell your agent if you got some especially fancy wedding gifts.)
You're having a baby.
Learning that you're pregnant means making some changes in your life. One of those changes: adding your child to your life insurance. And if you don't have life insurance yet, it's absolutely time for that. Ask our agent to learn more.
You just bought a house.
We know you're a little tired of dealing with stacks of papers while someone across the desk explains the ins and outs to you. But since this house is probably the largest purchase you'll ever make, you need to protect that purchase. (We'll keep the paper to a minimum. We promise.) You've got a new computer.
Like any other expensive new purchase, that cool new computer of yours deserves protection against disaster. Ask your agent about scheduled property insurance, or raising your personal property limits. The upgrading shouldn't stop when you get the computer set up.
Bought a new TV?
Before you check the TV listings on that new LCD, flat screen, plasma or 3D TV, you'd better check your policy. That new electronics purchase may not be covered under your current homeowners or renters policy. Talk to an agent about extending your personal property limits, or insuring the TV with scheduled property insurance.
Got a valuable collection?
Whether it's stamps, comics or gold bars, you need to tell your agent about it. One baseball card may not be worth a lot, but a few thousand may call for scheduled property insurance.
Added on a room?
Maybe your family is getting larger. Or maybe you're just adding that guest bedroom you've been talking about for so long. Either way, remodeling adds value. And a house that's worth more deserves a policy that protects more. Be sure to update your homeowner's insurance with your agent.
Starting a home office?
There's no business like small business. We congratulate you on your initiative. But we warn you that your homeowner's policy won't do much to cover your business equipment. Ask your agent to describe the coverage offered by our Business Insurance.
So, you're a landlord now?

Splashing around with friends and family in your own swimming pool this summer does sound pretty attractive. However, anything on your property that combines attractiveness with potential danger could leave you open for a lawsuit. Ask your agent how you can protect yourself against potential liability.
You've bought a trampoline?
Yes, it's a blast. And the kids sure do love it. But anyone who's ever watched one of those "funniest home videos" shows is aware that jumping on a trampoline carries a certain risk. To protect yourself about that risk, all it takes is one phone call to your agent.
Installed a wood-burning stove?
A wood stove can be less expensive than natural gas. It's not susceptible to power outages. And it's definitely cozy. But even a controlled fire in your house can be an issue. Get ahold of your agent now to find out how your policy needs to change.
Kid moved back into your house?

Got a parent living with you?
