A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of “A” (Excellent) of
United Farm Family Mutual Insurance Company and UFB Casualty Insurance Company, both part of the Indiana
Farm Bureau Family of Companies. According to A.M. Best, the rating reflects “favorable
operating performance, excellent capitalization, and strong personal lines market presence in
Indiana.” A.M. Best views the rating outlook as stable.
In addition, A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of “A”
(Excellent) of United Farm Family Life Insurance Company. According to A.M. Best, the rating reflects “the
company’s consistent statutory net operating gains and premium growth” as well as “historically high
penetration” of life sales to property and casualty lines clients. A.M. Best also recognizes significant
enhancements that have been made to the quality of the company’s investment portfolio.
Founded in 1899, A.M. Best Co. is the largest and longest-established rating
agency devoted to issuing in-depth reports and financial-strength ratings about insurance organizations.
A.M. Best has been recognized as a Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization (NRSRO)
by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Investment strategies also play a large role in our company’s success. Indiana
Farm Bureau Insurance’s conservative investment strategy focuses on U.S. government and high-quality
corporate bonds, in which 71.5 percent of the company’s assets are invested. Investments in mortgage
loans, common stock and real estate combine for only 17.1 percent of the company’s assets.
