Performance entries may include but are not limited to: speeches; skits; dance; routines; pantomime; drama; magic acts; stand-up comedy; puppeteering. This category does not include performance of existing works such as songs or dances.

For judging rounds one through three, entries in this category must be submitted on a new full-sized VHS videotape (with ½” tape), CD, or DVD. Length cannot exceed 8 minutes. Videos submitted on other sizes of tapes will be disqualified.
Live performances by entrants will be required at the state finals.
Please note that the stage at the Christel DeHaan Center is 23’ deep x 28’ wide. If you advance to the state finals, you will be required to perform your entry within the given area. If the equipment or props requested to present a performance entry are too large for the stage to comfortably handle, the eXceL Awards retain the right to ask the finalist to revise his or her request so that it works within the confines of the space that is available.
Any back-up performers or extras must be enrolled in an Indiana high school, an Indiana career center or meet the eXceL Awards’ home school criteria. This includes ANY person involved in the production of the performance, including “back stage” helpers or crew.
All entries must be original and address the topic of Perspective. While it is not required to enclose an exposition of the entry, it is acceptable and should be submitted as a typed statement separate from the entry form.

Performance entries will not be returned. Please make a copy before submitting.
